SUMMARY
- Milan-based Weebora, the world’s first international marketplace focused entirely on padel sports tourism has successfully closed its first pre-seed funding round, raising €1.3 million.
This milestone sets the stage for the company’s structured and sustainable growth. Over the next three years, Weebora aims to reach €10 million in transaction volume, build a community of 1 million users, strengthen its leadership in padel travel, and expand into other sports tourism categories.
“Today, approximately 80% of travelers choose destinations that offer sports activities and rely on operators considered experts in this type of tourism. This is one of the factors behind Weebora’s success,” said Fabio Zecchini, Founder and CEO of Weebora.
Founded in 2024, Weebora claims to be the only platform currently offering padel-focused travel experiences in four languages—English, Spanish, Italian, and French—while supporting transactions in five currencies: Euro, US Dollar, Swiss Franc, Canadian Dollar, and British Pound. It caters to the rising demand for sports, vacations, culture, and entertainment all in one place.

“We are very satisfied with the trust received from investors, which rewards the work done in just over a year and confirms the potential of our business model,” added Zecchini.
According to Weebora, sports tourism is one of the fastest-growing sectors globally, trailing only behind cultural and food & wine tourism. With a projected annual growth rate of 16.5%, the industry could surpass €1.7 trillion by 2032. Riding this wave, Weebora aims to become a leading player in padel-related travel positioning the sport as a major driver of active tourism worldwide.
The €1.3 million raised in its pre-seed round will fuel Weebora’s expansion and reinforce its role as a go-to platform for padel travel experiences.

The company plans to invest in four key areas: enhancing its technology with smart search and personalized travel planning tools; boosting international marketing across Europe, the U.S., and Asia; expanding partnerships with padel academies, resorts, and institutions like Premier Padel and the International Padel Federation (FIP); and growing its team by hiring experts in tech, marketing, product, and customer service.
In less than a year, Weebora has already teamed up with top padel academies such as the Rafa Nadal Academy, Gustavo Pratto Academy, M3 Academy and Paquito Navarro Academy.
The brand has also stepped into professional sports sponsorship by supporting Franco Stupaczuk, currently ranked No. 5 globally, further cementing its presence in the international padel scene.
