[Funding alert] London-based HealthKey Secures €1.32 Million in Seed Funding

Leading UK healthtech company HealthKey, which is transforming healthcare access and cost, has raised €1.32 million in seed money led by Aviva Ventures and supported by Ascension, Oxford Capital, and Cur8 Capital.
David Joerring and Tudor Cotop, who founded the company after working at Thriva and SeedLegals and seeing firsthand how difficult it was for traditional healthcare to harness the potential of preventative health, set out to develop a system that might close the gap between providers and payers.
The company's statement also coincides with remarks made by England's Chief Medical Officer, Sir Chris Witty, during a lecture at the Nuffield Health Summit. Witty stated that disease prevention is "absolutely critical" to guaranteeing that the NHS does not "struggle substantially" in the future.

Users may easily access a variety of healthcare solutions and services thanks to HealthKey's ability to bridge the gap between payers and providers. After a successful nine-month pilot with 800 participants from Aviva's staff, the company closes the seed round.
David Joerring, HealthKey Co-Founder and CEO said, “So far, we’ve been driven by a singular mission to unlock and simplify access to everything you need to live a healthier life, which requires a shift in how health and well-being services are provided and paid for, and means putting the user in the driver seat and giving them more control. By creating an integrated network of health providers and payers, we can improve access to personalised health services, particularly in traditionally underfunded and underserved areas, such as early diagnosis, women’s health, mental health and neurodiversity,".
HealthKey’s Co-Founder and CTO, Tudor Cotop said, “Access to healthcare is too often one-size-fits-all, where the limited personalisation of therapies available results in low adoption. Working in our field, we often see efforts to promote proactive and preventive health struggle to reach its full potential – and we wanted to change that,”.
Giving users complete control over the health services they get and expediting the payment process for health and well-being services from various payer sources, including insurers and employers, are essential components of HealthKey's platform.
HealthKey's solution restores employee access to proactive and preventative health by providing a single platform that integrates information about employer healthcare coverage with a wide range of healthcare services.
Employer health budgets, insurance benefits, salary sacrifice, and self-pay can all be combined with HealthKey's technology thanks to a platform that easily combines a wide range of health and well-being goods and services.
Now that funding has been obtained, HealthKey will concentrate on improving the functionality of its platform, increasing the number of integrations with corporate employers, health plan providers, and life and health insurers, as well as the variety of health care providers it offers.
Following the launch of its free plan, HealthKey is concentrated on providing individualised therapies to individuals who want to take a more active role in managing their access to proactive and preventative healthcare.
Healthkey, Ant Barker, Director of Venture Capital at Aviva Ventures, said: “HealthKey’s platform simplifies the way companies can provide vital health and wellbeing benefits to their people, making it easier and quicker for employees to access personalised services that they truly want. Our investment is another example of Aviva backing promising new UK tech companies, supporting growth in the sector whilst also gaining valuable insight into new trends and services for customers.”
