Green Voltis, a Stockholm-based company that uses AI to manage and trade battery storage across European energy markets, has raised €13.5 million in a Series A funding round from Lochpine Capital.
SUMMARY
- Green Voltis raised €13.5 million in Series A funding.
- The funds will support European expansion.
- Green Voltis uses AI to manage battery storage.
The company helps optimise battery storage projects, including standalone systems and those combined with renewable energy. It currently has more than 1.2 GWh of battery storage capacity under contract and in operation.
Martin Kievit, CEO and co-founder of Green Voltis, said, “Every new gigawatt of renewables makes Europe’s grid harder to balance, and flexibility now sets the pace of the energy transition. We built Aether and Chronos to turn storage and renewable plants into assets the grid can rely on and investors can bank on. The next wave of demand comes from AI.
Green Voltis was founded in 2024 by Kievit, Ali Shi and Gino Zhang. The company uses AI to manage, trade and optimise renewable energy assets across different markets. Its platform aims to replace manual trading processes and multiple energy management tools with a single automated system.

According to the company, Europe is rapidly expanding battery storage, but getting grid connections has become slower and more difficult. New grid requirements and frequent changes in electricity prices also make it harder for businesses to predict revenue and finance projects.
Green Voltis aims to manage the entire process, from connecting battery projects to the grid to trading electricity. Its engineering team handles the initial setup, and required approvals, helping projects start operating and earning revenue sooner.
The company has developed an energy management system called Chrono in Sweden. It controls battery sites, meets grid requirements and supports grid-forming operations. Its AI-based trading system, Aether AI, forecasts electricity prices and helps batteries earn revenue from multiple energy markets at the same time.
Green Voltis is also working on its Power-to-Compute business, which connects energy infrastructure with data centres. The aim is to help data centres get access to electricity sooner while supporting grid stability. The company has around 120 MW of powered land in the Nordic region and plans to develop it with compute operators.
Blake Niu, Partner and Head of Private Equity at Lochpine Capital, said, “As renewables take a larger share of the energy mix, grid connection and power trading are becoming key to the value of energy assets, and they are among the scarcest capabilities in Europe’s energy transition.
