SUMMARY

  • Evolytes, a math learning platform from Reykjavík, has raised €1.3 million in Seed funding to expand its impact and revenue in Latin America, India, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and the U.S.
  • Founded in 2017 through research across different fields, Evolytes wants to be a go-to extra tool for early math practice, helping students build strong skills from the start.

The round was co-led by Omega and Pekron Family Office. It follows a €473k pre-Seed round in 2021 led by NSA Ventures. Evolytes already supports over 160,000 students in 1,400 U.S. schools.

Mathieu Grettir Skúlason, CEO & Co-founder of Evolytes, says: “Students are increasingly developing a negative attitude towards math early on in their lives which is heavily impacting their academic potential. Evolytes is empowering a new generation of learners to get the foundation they need in mathematics through a medium they know and love. A student who is motivated to learn is all a teacher needs to do their magic—that’s what Evolytes brings to the classroom.”

Evolytes says its platform has greatly improved student performance, attitude, and engagement in different learning environments around the world.

The new funding will help the company grow revenue and expand its impact in the regions it serves. What sets Evolytes apart is its high-quality game design, storytelling, and world-building—making math feel like an exciting adventure, not just digital worksheets or simple games.

Math scores were already slipping before COVID-19 and have dropped even more since, despite math being a key 21st-century skill.

Evolytes says it’s helping change that by supporting both top private schools and underserved rural communities across Latin America, the U.S., and Southeast Asia.

Evolytes is changing how kids learn math by making it more fun, faster, and easier to understand—especially for those who struggle. Its method helps students learn up to 12 times faster while staying engaged.
