EUCLYD Raises €200 Mn+ Series A to Build Energy-Efficient AI Infrastructure

EUCLYD, a semiconductor systems startup based in Eindhoven, has raised more than €200 million in Series A funding. The company will use the funding to develop more energy-efficient infrastructure for running advanced AI models.

SUMMARY

  • EUCLYD has raised more than €200 million in a Series A funding round.
  • The round was co-led by Samsung, Somerset Capital Partners, Scaleup Europe Fund and Innovation Industries.
  • The company was founded in 2024 by Bernardo Kastrup and Atul Sinha.

The funding round was co-led by Samsung, Somerset Capital Partners, the EQT-managed Scaleup Europe Fund, and Innovation Industries. Other investors included EIFO, imec.xpand, Brabant Development Agency (BOM), and Quadri.

Along with the funding, Peter Wennink, former President and CEO of chip equipment company ASML, has joined EUCLYD’s board as Chairman. His experience in the semiconductor industry will support the company as it expands.

“AI is becoming a foundation of economic growth, scientific discovery, and national competitiveness, but its potential will remain constrained unless we fundamentally change the infrastructure beneath it. This financing accelerates our mission to make intelligence abundant through greater efficiency, lower cost per token, and broader access to advanced AI,” said Bernardo Kastrup, founder and Chief Executive Officer of EUCLYD.

“The next phase of AI will be defined not only by model innovation, but also by the efficiency and scalability of its infrastructure. EUCLYD combines an accomplished team with a differentiated vision addressing constraints in AI data centres,” said Dede Goldschmidt, Senior Vice President of Samsung Electronics and Head of the Samsung Semiconductor Innovation Centre.

Founded in 2024 by Kastrup and Atul Sinha, EUCLYD is a semiconductor startup based at High Tech Campus Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

The company is building AI infrastructure to address some of the biggest challenges in running advanced AI models, especially the growing need for computing power and memory.

As AI models become more powerful, companies need more computing power, faster memory and larger data centers. Building this infrastructure can also require significant amounts of money.

EUCLYD aims to solve these challenges by developing energy-efficient AI infrastructure. Its technology covers custom computer chips, memory systems and data center infrastructure designed specifically for foundation AI models.
