SUMMARY
- Dutch healthtech startup Ditto has raised €7.6 million to accelerate its expansion across Europe and enhance its AI-driven patient communication platform.
The funding round was led by Heal Capital, with additional participation from Optiverder and Rubio Impact Ventures. Since its launch last summer, the app has already attracted nearly 100,000 downloads.
Founded by Tobias Polak, Bart Voorn, and Merlijn van Breugel, Ditto is focused on solving a widespread issue in healthcare patients often leave medical consultations without fully understanding or remembering the information shared.
The app enables users to record doctor visits or upload images of medical documents. Its AI system then creates clear, easy-to-understand summaries that can be reviewed later and translated into multiple languages, including English, Turkish, and Arabic. Patients can also securely share these summaries with family members while the company emphasizes that no data is stored centrally.

Co-founder Tobias Polak highlighted that medical appointments are typically brief, making it difficult for patients to absorb complex or emotionally difficult information in the moment.
We are trying to shift healthcare thinking away from institutions and towards the patient experience. Our ambition is to help people better understand their care journey during some of the most vulnerable moments in life.
The company says the platform is designed not only to improve patient understanding and engagement, but also to reduce repetitive follow-up questions and ease administrative pressure on healthcare professionals.
The newly raised capital will be used to expand Ditto across Europe and to develop additional patient support features. These include tools to help users prepare for consultations and better navigate treatment and care journeys alongside family members.
