SUMMARY
- UK fintech startup Damisa has raised £2.25 million in pre-seed funding to launch its stablecoin payment service.
- Damisa is a new platform that helps make global asset and data transfers easier, especially in emerging markets.
Founded by Jordan Lawrence (who also co-founded Volt), Damisa is focused on industries like logistics, real estate, travel, and education, where cross-border payments are slow, costly, and unclear.
Today, many international B2B payments still use old systems that cause delays, high fees, and trust issues, especially when using escrow services. Damisa aims to solve these problems with faster and more secure solutions using stablecoins.

Damisa plans to simplify international payments using stablecoins and its own smart wallet system. This will help businesses move money faster, with less hassle, and more security.
The funding comes as more fintech startups show interest in using stablecoins for business payments, not just for consumer crypto. At the same time, regulators are providing clearer rules for digital assets, making it easier to build in this space.
Mark Pearson, Managing Partner at Fuel Ventures, commented: “Damisa is uniquely positioned to fundamentally transform international payments. We’ve invested in Jordan before through our investment into Volt ($350M+ valuation) and are delighted to be working with him again. The team has the experience, regulatory foundation, and industry understanding to make a significant global impact. We’re excited to lead their first round and support their ambitious growth trajectory.”
CEO Jordan Lawrence said the backing reflects the market’s appetite for modern alternatives to legacy escrow and settlement services: “This funding reflects confidence in our vision to fundamentally improve global payment processes for sectors burdened by outdated, expensive solutions. By implementing our smart wallets and orchestrating leading stablecoins for speed and security, Damisa will dramatically simplify escrow services and cross-border payments, delivering greater transparency to businesses operating internationally, especially in complex, emerging markets. We look forward to providing immediate, tangible benefits to customers across logistics, real estate, travel, and the education sectors.”
