CloudNC Raises €17.2 Mn to Expand AI-Powered CNC Machining Technology

The company will use the new funding to expand the use of its main product, grow in existing and new markets, and develop new products.

The funding round was led by Nimble Ventures, a US-based venture investor. Other investors included Calculus Venture Capital, Entrepreneur First, and LM Ventures, the venture capital arm of Lockheed Martin.

Theo Saville, CEO and co-founder of CloudNC, said, “Machine shops everywhere are under pressure to quote and program faster, and deliver more with the people and machines they already have. This investment allows us to stay focused on what matters most to our customers: making CAM Assist even more effective at accelerating daily production, expanding into more markets, and developing new AI products that address critical bottlenecks across machining workflows.”

John Burbank, founder of Nimble Ventures, said, “CloudNC’s automation of CNC will enable massive increases in onshoring of manufacturing and global production of mission-critical components.”

Founded in 2015, CloudNC uses AI to help factories improve CNC machining, increase production, and help machinists get more work done.

Its main product, CAM Assist, uses AI to create CNC machining strategies and toolpaths faster. This helps teams move from product design to manufacturing more quickly.

CloudNC says the new funding will help the company move from early adoption of CAM Assist to wider commercial use. The company is also expanding into existing and new markets.

CloudNC is working with Knox Systems to achieve FedRAMP certification for CAM Assist. This could allow US government agencies, defence contractors, and other organisations with strict security and compliance requirements to use the software for sensitive manufacturing work.
