SUMMARY
- Bubble Robotics has raised $5 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Episode1 Ventures, Asterion Ventures, and Norrsken Evolve, following its launch from Entrepreneurs First.
As offshore industries face rising demand and significant workforce shortages, innovation has lagged despite the ocean’s critical role in energy, trade, and climate systems.
Founded in 2025 by former engineers from NASA and ETH Zürich the company is building an autonomous offshore workforce.
Its approach replaces traditional vessel-based missions with resident robotic systems that operate continuously, enabling ongoing inspection, monitoring and data collection.
By deploying intelligent robots designed to function at sea for extended periods without human intervention Bubble Robotics aims to reduce reliance on costly offshore operations, which can exceed $100,000 per day.

Recent advances in robotics, edge AI and satellite connectivity are enabling autonomous systems to operate at sea with minimal human input. Bubble Robotics is leveraging these technologies for offshore use cases such as infrastructure inspection, environmental monitoring, and maritime security.
The company follows a robotics-as-a-service model, helping operators lower costs, tackle workforce shortages, and increase inspection frequency without heavy upfront investment.
Inspired by satellite constellations, it is developing a distributed network of autonomous systems to gather high-frequency underwater data and improve ocean operations.
The new funding will support further technology development and early deployments as the company works to scale its autonomous offshore solutions.
Jean Crosetti, CEO and co-founder of Bubble Robotics, said that vessels and crews account for roughly 80 to 90 per cent of offshore inspection costs.
By removing that dependency, we unlock a step change in cost, safety and operational frequency. What used to be episodic becomes continuous.
About Bubble Robotics
Bubble Robotics builds autonomous robotic systems for ocean operations. Its integrated surface and subsea robots operate at sea for months, enabling continuous inspection, surveying, and monitoring without vessels or crews helping improve infrastructure management, environmental tracking and operational efficiency across offshore industries.
