At the heart of Intelligent Content Management (ICM) is the ability to understand and “structure” the data inside enterprise content. From contracts containing critical metadata like party names, renewal dates, key terms, and more, to invoices with amounts, addresses, and product details, and bank statements filled with client details, balances, and other critical information. This metadata is essential business content, and historically it’s been incredibly expensive and difficult to extract metadata from these types of documents at scale.
Alphamoon, based in Poland, has been working on redefining AI-powered technology these past few years to solve exactly this problem and make metadata extraction far easier than incumbent solutions. By acquiring the technology of Alphamoon, they were significantly accelerating the development of their new intelligent metadata extraction capabilities, which are built on the Box AI platform.
This enhanced platform feature helps them expand their comprehensive suite of workflow automation tools and complements their upcoming metadata view functionality in Box (powered by their earlier acquisition, Crooze), as well as existing features such as Box Forms, Box DocGen, Box Sign, and intelligent Archiving and Governance.
Amy Machado, Senior Research Manager, Enterprise Management & Workplace Strategies, IDC said, “IDP remains a critical origination point for increasingly complex document workflow using intelligent capture paired with automation, To enable automation, organizations need a high level of accuracy, usability, and flexibility to support their diversity of documents and custom business requirements. With the Alphamoon acquisition, Box now has a complete end-to-end solution, unlike the pure-play IDP vendors.”
