SUMMARY
- Asterix Health, a London-based startup building a remote workforce platform for NHS primary care, has raised £2.1 million in pre-seed funding led by Triple Point, with participation from D2, Entrepreneurs First, Basis Capital, DLB Ventures and angel investors.
Founded in 2024 by Julian Titz and Max Thilo, the company connects NHS GP practices with GMC-registered doctors working remotely from countries including Australia, Malaysia and India.
These doctors support UK practices through telephone consultations, triage, and clinical administration.
The founders launched the company after experiencing serious health challenges themselves and identifying the growing pressure on NHS primary care caused by workforce shortages and rising patient demand.

Its proprietary platform, DoctorOS, integrates with NHS electronic patient record systems including EMIS and SystmOne, allowing remote GPs to access patient information securely and deliver care efficiently.
The company currently supports GP practices serving around 250,000 patients and claims its model frees up more than one GP session per day per practice. To date, over 3,000 hours of care have been delivered through the platform.
The new funding will help Asterix onboard more NHS practices, expand its global network of remote GPs, and further develop its technology platform. The company says wider adoption of its model could save UK primary care between £250 million and £300 million annually.
Julian Titz, Co-founder & CEO of Asterix Health, said: For the first time in decades we are actually growing the pie increasing the number of highly qualified GPs available to deliver primary care, rather than simply moving existing GPs around the country. Our early partners are already seeing significant productivity gains and reallocating the saved time into new proactive care services for patients as a result.
Dr Mike Bewick, Strategic Medical Lead at Asterix Health, said: The NHS has the talent it just needs the infrastructure to deploy it properly. Asterix has built that. There are thousands of GMC-registered GPs who left not because they wanted to stop practising, but because the system didn't work for them. I joined Asterix because they are creating a more sustainable workforce that meets the needs of modern primary care, with a relentless focus on quality and governance.
