Ark Climate Raises €2.1M To Help Government Implement Climate Action

The funding will be used to expand the team, strengthen its presence in Germany, and advance development of emissions data and AI-driven climate models.

The round was led by climate tech VC Satgana, with participation from another.VC, the Voyagers Climate Fund, experienced angel investors, and the German Federal Ministry of Research.

Founded in 2024 by Ruth Bosse, Ark Climate is a GovTech and climate startup offering a software platform that helps municipalities achieve climate neutrality through intelligent data analysis, collaborative planning, and AI-driven insights. Already, 43 German municipalities use the platform to guide local climate initiatives.

Municipalities face growing pressure to act on climate, managing responsibilities like district heating, bike lanes, public transport, and public buildings. In Germany alone, local governments have the potential to cut over 100 million tons of CO2e 16% of the nation’s total emissions, according to the German Environment Agency.

With climate-related disasters increasing and the 2045 climate neutrality target approaching, Ark Climate stresses the urgency of effective municipal action.

Ark Climate offers a cloud-based platform designed for municipal climate action. It centralizes climate data and connects all key stakeholders in a single workspace enabling cities to plan implement and monitor climate initiatives collaboratively.

The platform’s integrated data models analyze energy use and emissions, assess the impact of individual measures, and evaluate whether current actions are on track to meet political climate targets.
