Aquiti Closes €60 Mn AVA1 Fund to Back Early-Stage Startups in Southwestern France

France-based venture capital firm Aquiti has announced the final close of its AVA1 fund at nearly €60 million, reaching its fundraising target.

SUMMARY

  • Aquiti has closed its AVA1 venture capital fund at nearly €60 million, meeting its fundraising target.
  • The fund supports early-stage technology startups across Southwestern France.
  • Aquiti has a team of five investors managing AVA1 and 20 professionals across its wider business.

AVA1 was created to support promising founders who are building companies outside traditional startup hubs. While many investors focus on major tech cities, Aquiti sees strong opportunities in regions that often receive less attention and investment.

The fund focuses on the Greater Southwest of France, including cities such as Bordeaux, Toulouse and Nantes. The region is home to a growing number of entrepreneurs who want to build successful businesses.

Some founders have always worked in these regions, while others have returned after spending years in major tech hubs such as Paris, London and Silicon Valley. Aquiti aims to help these entrepreneurs build companies that can compete across Europe and global markets.

Since launching AVA1, Aquiti has built a team of five investors and invested in 13 companies. Its portfolio includes Synboli, which uses AI for materials discovery, and RelaiSanté, which is developing new approaches to care coordination.

“Founders should not have to choose between building where they want to live and accessing the capital, network and ambition they need to go far. With AVA1, our goal is simple: be the first partner for the best founders in the Greater Southwest, and stay alongside them as they scale.” said Jean-François Cochy, General Partner at Aquiti and Head of AVA1

“We chose Aquiti because the relationship went far beyond capital. From our first discussions, we found a team that combines a genuinely close human relationship with experience in investing and supporting tech companies as they scale. Most importantly, we share the same level of ambition: to make RelaiSanté a category-defining company and transform the way patients access care and support after hospitalisation.” said, Étienne Boix, co-founder & CEO of RelaiSanté
