ANote Music Secures €2Mn Funding to Grow Music Royalty Trading Platform

ANote Music, a Luxembourg-based marketplace for music royalties, has raised €2 million in new funding. The platform allows users to buy, sell, and earn money from music royalties.

SUMMARY

  • ANote Music has raised €2 million in new funding.
  • The round was led by Seventure Partners and ScaleFund.
  • The company will use the funding to expand its catalogue, grow across Europe, and improve its platform and app.

The funding round was led by Seventure Partners and ScaleFund, with support from ANote Music’s existing investors and shareholders.

ANote Music plans to use the new funding to expand its music catalogue and attract more people across Europe to its royalty trading platform. The company will also continue improving its platform and mobile app.

Marzio F. Schena, CEO and co-founder of ANote Music, commented, “Music royalties have been one of the most resilient income streams in finance, and one of the hardest for ordinary investors to reach. We built ANote to close that gap: fair, transparent valuations for the rights holders who sell, and recurring royalty income for the people who buy. Seventure and ScaleFund let us do that for a far larger market.”

David Manjarres, General Partner and Head of the ICT department at Seventure Partners, added, “To unlock a global asset class, you need flawless infrastructure, not just a platform. ANote has engineered the definitive financial plumbing for music royalties. Bringing primary auctions, a live secondary order book, and an automated distribution engine under one roof is a rare technical feat, and it’s exactly why we stepped up to lead this round.”

ANote Music was founded in 2018 by Schena, Matteo Cernuschi, and Grégoire Mathonet and launched its platform in 2020. The company aims to connect the music and finance industries by making music royalties easier to invest in.

The company operates a marketplace where people can buy, sell, and earn from music royalties. Its catalogue includes songs connected to major artists such as The Kinks, Beyoncé, The Who, Backstreet Boys, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Drake, and Avicii.

ANote Music works somewhat like a stock exchange for music royalties. Music rights holders can offer part of the future royalties from their songs to buyers through an open marketplace.

The platform gives rights holders another way to sell or transfer parts of their royalty interests and music catalogues. Instead of relying only on private deals, ANote Music aims to provide a more open marketplace where these transactions can take place under market-based terms.
