COVAP is a major Spanish farmers' cooperative founded in 1959 in Pozoblanco, Córdoba. It has over 2,000 active farmer-members and runs a modern dairy plant that processes more than 400 million litres of milk each year. COVAP exports its products to over 30 countries, including the US, UK, and parts of Asia.
Commenting on the collaboration, COVAP President Ricardo Delgado Vizcaíno said, “This partnership with Amul allows us to work with another cooperative to help them grow their brand in Spain, benefitting not only our dairy farmer members but those in India as well…"
Amul, the world’s largest farmer-owned dairy cooperative with 3.6 million members, processes over 12 billion litres of milk each year through 112 plants across India. With a turnover of over $11 billion, it’s ranked the world’s strongest dairy brand.

In April, Amul increased the price of its fresh pouch milk by ₹2 per litre nationwide — a 3–4% rise. The cooperative noted that this hike is still much lower than the average food inflation rate.
Amul stated that it returns 80 paise of every rupee earned from milk and milk product sales to its milk producers.
“The price revision shall help in sustaining remunerative milk prices to our milk producers and to encourage them for higher milk production,” the statement said.
Mother Dairy also raised its milk prices by ₹2 per litre. Amul shared that last year, it gave consumers extra milk — 50 ml in 1-litre packs and 100 ml in 2-litre packs — for nearly five months.
In January, it also cut the price of 1-litre packs by ₹1 across all markets. Amul clarified that it hadn’t increased the price of fresh pouch milk since June 2024.
