AI startup Rotomate Raises €2.1 million in Pre-seed Round

Finnish industrial AI startup Rotomate has raised €2.1 million in a pre-seed funding round to grow its platform that helps factories and industrial companies manage equipment maintenance more efficiently.

The platform analyzes machine data and provides maintenance recommendations, much like an experienced reliability engineer would.

The funding round was led by Kvanted, a Helsinki-based investor. Other participants included Robin Capital, Angel Invest, Accel’s scout programme, and Business Finland.

The round also attracted angel investors Jiri Heinonen and Moaffak Ahmed, who joined to support the company's growth and development.

“Improving industrial reliability is often constrained not by a lack of data but by the limited capacity of experts to continuously analyse and act on it,” said Mikko Kuusisto, co-founder and chief executive. “We built Rotomate to scale that expertise, so that every plant can act on the most up-to-date data around the clock.”

Founded in 2024 by Mikko Kuusisto and Dr Jesse Miettinen, Rotomate develops AI-powered software that helps industrial companies keep their equipment running smoothly and reduce unexpected breakdowns.

The company is solving a common problem in factories and industrial plants. While many businesses have invested in sensors and monitoring systems that collect machine data, there are not enough experts available to analyze all that information.

As a result, maintenance teams often find it difficult to know which machine warnings need urgent action and which ones are less important. Rotomate’s AI helps by analyzing the data and identifying the most critical issues, making maintenance decisions faster and more effective.

According to Rotomate, its platform can greatly reduce the time maintenance teams spend manually monitoring machine data. It also makes expert-level equipment analysis available across many more machines and assets within industrial facilities.

The new funding will help the company continue improving its product and expand into international markets. Rotomate also plans to hire more engineers, product specialists, and business development staff as demand for industrial AI solutions continues to grow.
