SUMMARY

  • Zurich-based Modulos, an AI governance platform, has raised CHF 8.7 million in a pre-Series A funding round.

The round was backed by existing investors who have supported the company’s long-term vision, especially during the early development of the EU AI Act.

"We are helping organizations develop and operate AI products and services in a new regulated environment.”says Kevin Schawinski Co-founder & CEO of Modulos.

Founded in 2018, Modulos AG is a Swiss tech company focused on AI governance solutions. Its platform brings together compliance officers, data scientists, risk managers, and business teams in one workspace to simplify compliance with standards like the EU AI Act and ISO 42001.

With built-in Agentic AI, the platform automates routine tasks and supports proactive risk management, helping organizations stay continuously compliant. This reduces legal, financial, and reputational risks—building trust and supporting long-term success in AI initiatives.

“With global AI regulation accelerating, this is just the beginning,” said Kevin Schawinski, co-founder and CEO. “We’re building the infrastructure that will define how responsible AI gets deployed at scale.”

The funds will support product development, expand sales across Europe, and enhance integration with MLOps, LLMOps, and internal audit systems. Modulos aims to become the enterprise standard for AI governance as compliance moves from a “nice-to-have” to a business-critical necessity.
