SUMMARY
- London- and San Francisco-based startup Zalos, which aims to reduce the manual workload of finance teams through AI agents, has raised $3.6 million in a seed funding round led by Swiss VC 14Peaks Capital.
Other investors include Cohen Circle, Harry Stebbings’ 20VC, and angels such as Ian Sutherland, CTO of Tide, and Mike Lenz, CFO of FedEx.
Zalos addresses the challenge of finance teams operating across fragmented systems ERPs, CRMs, spreadsheets, email, and banking platforms that often don’t communicate seamlessly. Incomplete APIs mean finance teams act as the “human API,” manually stitching together data to complete billing, close books and produce critical reports.
The startup believes productivity gains will come not from replacing these systems but from agentic AI software that can operate them like humans while understanding deep business context. Zalos’ in house AI agents integrate directly into existing workflows automating manual tasks without disrupting CFO-approved setups.

Its agents log into systems using standard credentials and handle workflows while preserving existing configurations. Designed specifically for finance they bring reliability and accuracy to high-stakes processes and include finance-specific skills like advanced Excel operations.
Zalos was founded by William Fairbairn (CEO) and Hung Hoang (CTO), who met at Y Combinator, where they focused on developing specialized AI agents.
The startup plans to use the funding to enhance its technology and expand its customer base, shifting focus from midmarket ERPs to enterprise-level ERP systems.
Fairbairn said: "Finance teams have the systems, but they are still doing the work manually because the stack is not connected. We built Zalos on the belief that CFOs should not need to rip out their existing stack to adopt the latest in AI, we want to start by sitting on top of what is already there. Computer Agents that can log in and run the workflow end to end are the fastest path to real transformation in finance operations."
