Despite digital alternatives, phone calls remain the main channel for scheduling over 70% of patient appointments rely on it yet healthcare phone lines are often overwhelmed.

Vocca’s AI agents are specifically designed for healthcare, trained in medical terminology and specialized workflows. The startup says its agents can understand and resolve complex patient requests while seamlessly integrating with appointment systems and EHRs.

Founded in 2024 by Eliott Hoffenberg and Hugo Danet, Vocca represents a new wave of AI-first startups addressing operational inefficiencies in the highly regulated healthcare sector.

With the new funding, Vocca plans to triple its team and expand across the U.S. and Europe, targeting 10,000 healthcare providers by 2026. The company also aims to create specialty-specific workflows for areas such as dermatology, dentistry, gynecology and mental health.

Privacy and regulatory compliance are central to Vocca’s platform, which is fully GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2 compliant, meeting the stringent data protection standards required in healthcare.

Investors view Vocca not just as a time-saver, but as a tool to modernize the patient experience and alleviate staffing shortages in primary care.

The funding comes amid growing interest in AI solutions that streamline healthcare operations rather than focusing solely on diagnostics. Administrative automation startups like Suki, Nabla, Ribbon, and Ambience Healthcare are gaining momentum as clinics seek efficiency without increasing headcount.

Vocca’s AI reception addresses a critical point in the patient journey the first interaction. By transforming phone calls into structured workflows, it delivers cost savings and improved patient outcomes offering a compelling solution for overburdened healthcare systems worldwide.
