The story of Victoria Repa

The story begins from a small village in Kyiv, Ukraine.This story is about a farmer's daughter, Victoria Repa, who quit her job to reduce an issue and now she became an inspiration to all. In her small village, there were not good institutions for studies and that’s why she had to struggle during her studies. To learn anything, she had to put her efforts at her own level.

However, her efforts paid off, and she got a grant to attend the best economics school in the country. After her graduation, a large FMCG company hired her to work in logistics. Even though a career in this field could be rewarding and stable, but she didn't enjoy the work, and that's why she left her job.

After quitting her job, she was looking for interesting and challenging employment and she noticed the IT sector was rapidly expanding. Furthermore, she joined, a well-known Ukrainian tech and media publishing company, Genesis. But here, she observed an issue and determined to address this problem and also quit this job.

Repa’s entrepreneurial journey

Repa’s entrepreneurial journey started during her teenage years, when she faced low confidence due to being overweight, which made it difficult for her to maintain an active lifestyle. But she worked on it, and became a certified health coach at the age of 27, having excelled in acrobatic yoga. She always had this feeling that she needed to find a solution to the overweight and health issues.

Apart from this, when Repa and her co-founder, Vitaly Laptenok, were working on viral campaigns at Genesis, they observed the rapidly growing demand for high-quality health and fitness content.

After researching the industry, they discovered that 7 out of 10 Americans were overweight, and that 8 out of 10 will be overweight by 2030. As a result, most families in the United States, Europe, and the rest of the world will have serious issues. They determined to do something for health and wellness. And this is how, BetterMe was born.

In order to reduce these health-related issues, in 2017, Repa founded BetterMe in Kyiv, Ukraine.
