SUMMARY
- EPFL spin-off Verretex is accelerating the adoption of regenerated glass fiber textiles, turning waste into high-quality materials.
- Verretex purchases low quality recycled glass fiber and uses our propriatary technology to regenerate thier properties producing high quality glass fiber textiles for reuse in new products.
Due to rising costs, supply chain pressures, and sustainability regulations, industries like aerospace, automotive, and wind energy urgently need recycled glass fiber textiles to replace virgin materials.
However, no viable solution exists, as traditional recycling degrades fiber quality, leaving a critical gap in high-performance applications and causing recyclers to operate at a loss.
As a result, most composite waste is either incinerated or sent to landfills, leading to resource loss and a negative environmental impact. Finding an economically viable end-of-life solution has remained a challenge for both manufacturers and recyclers.

This approach restores the fibers’ strength and durability, offering industries a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to virgin materials. By closing the loop on glass fiber waste, Verretex provides a scalable solution that supports both economic and environmental goals.
The global glass fiber market is worth tens of billions, with recycled glass fiber textiles projected at USD 1.5 billion by 2030. Verretex, the first to upcycle glass fibers without performance loss, serves composite manufacturers, OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), and corporations seeking sustainable materials.
As regulations tighten and composite waste grows, Verretex turns industrial waste into high-performance materials. The company is already working with automotive, aerospace, sporting goods, and wind energy sectors to develop next-generation recycled glass fiber products.
Verretex will employ the CHF 150,000 from Venture Kick to advance business development by expanding customer engagements, scaling pilot projects, and strengthening industry partnerships.
The funding will also support market entry strategies, certification, and supply chain development to ensure its recycled glass fiber solutions meet industry standards and commercial demands.
The founding team—CEO Mitchell Anderson, COO Lidia Rocoffort de Vinnière, CFO Pierre Wüst, and CSO Nour Halawani—brings expertise in composites, sustainability, and business development to launch Verretex. Drawing on their experience at EPFL, IMD, and in industry, they developed a scalable solution to transform recycled glass fibers into high-quality, sustainable products, positioning Verretex as a leading EPFL spin-off.
CEO Mitchell Anderson said, “Our experience with Venture Kick has been crucial in shaping Verretex’s growth, offering not only essential funding but also invaluable mentorship, The program has helped refine our go-to-market strategy, strengthen our value proposition, and accelerate our path toward commercialization.”
