Dr Nicki Thompson, CEO, TRIMTECH Therapeutics, said: “We welcome JJDC and BGF as investors in our seed financing round and thank them for their support. This additional funding allows us to forge ahead with developing our portfolio of CNS penetrant degraders based on our unique platforms. TRIMTECH has incredibly strong scientific foundations combined with a world leading team augmented by a globally recognised investor syndicate – I’m excited to work with this exceptional group, to deliver the next phase of growth for the company.”
Founded in 2023 by Leo James and Will McEwan, TRIMTECH Therapeutics is a biotechnology company developing new small-molecule medicines to treat neurodegenerative and inflammatory diseases.
The company’s technology is based on many years of research into TRIM21, a protein that helps remove harmful proteins from cells. Using its proprietary TRIMTAC platform, TRIMTECH aims to selectively target and break down disease-causing protein aggregates while preserving healthy proteins that are important for normal cell function.
This approach could lead to new treatment options for common diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, where effective therapies are still limited.
