Barcelona-based toddl.co secures €500k in pre-seed funding. The impact venture capital firm Fondo Bolsa Social led this round, which also included a €195k loan from ENISA and supporting from business angels Marta Antunez (Wayra/ChicPlace), Edurne de Oteiza (Wallapop), and Banco Sabadell’s BStartup.
Stephanie Meagher, Co-Founder and CEO of toddl.co said, “Social impact has always been at the core of our business, Through our platform, we aim to provide greater access to extracurricular activities for more children, to empower small business owners – the majority of whom are women – in the digitisation of their businesses, and to provide enriching childcare alternatives for working parents, who often struggle with family reconciliation. We’re thrilled to continue driving toward this mission with the support of our new partners.”
With this new investment, Toddl.co will be enabled to further strengthen their position as the industry leader in Spain and set the stage for future worldwide growth through growing their sales and marketing team and accelerating product development in order to meet their target of 15,000 enterprises and 50.000 families by 2024.
José Moncada, Managing Director at Fondo Bolsa Social said, “At Fondo Bolsa Social we are very happy to become part of toddl.co. Stephanie and Lorin, two talented entrepreneurs with international experience, have launched a project with great growth potential. What we like most is that toddl.co’s impact mission benefits various groups: toddl.co helps reinforce the educational performance of our students, promotes work-life balance within families and supports female entrepreneurs,”.
Research shows that engaging in extracurricular activities not only enhances students’ academic performance but also fosters creativity and self-assurance, fortifies interpersonal bonds, and develops crucial “future skills” that will serve them well in secondary education and beyond.
Toddl.co, which was established in 2021 by Stephanie Meagher and Lorin May, is one of the largest and most rapidly expanding online booking platforms for children’s activities in Spain. With 17,000 monthly visits, it offers over 2000 classes, camps, and events.
Businesses may simplify reservations, payments, client management, and outreach to new families through the toddl.co marketplace by using the all-in-one, cloud-based software package from toddl.co.
