SWISSto12 Partners With Mitsubishi Electric to Advance Satellite Technology in Japan

SWISSto12 has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (MELCO) to explore joint opportunities in advanced satellite payloads, radio frequency (RF) products and market expansion in Japan and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

The partnership will combine MELCO’s experience in satellite systems and integration with SWISSto12’s 3D-printing technology. The technology helps produce satellite payloads that are smaller, lighter, high-performing, and faster to manufacture.

The agreement also highlights the growing use of SWISSto12’s HummingLink payload technology, which uses 3D printing. More than 2,000 HummingLink products are already in orbit supporting a wide range of customer missions.

Separately, MELCO has awarded SWISSto12 a contract to supply advanced phased-array antenna products for a Japanese government secure communications program in geostationary orbit (GEO).

SWISSto12 is a space technology company that supports the growing space industry. Founded in 2011, the company uses advanced manufacturing methods including 3D printing to build innovative satellite payloads and other space products.

Its products can be used on different types of satellites and for various space missions. They can be installed on third-party satellites or on HummingSat, SWISSto12’s own compact satellite platform designed for geostationary orbit.

SWISSto12 is currently delivering payloads for several LEO satellite constellations and multiple HummingSat platforms for global satellite operators. The company generated $140 million in revenue in 2025 and has more than $500 million in contracted orders. It has also achieved a 110% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) since 2022.
