SUMMARY
- Stilta has raised $10.5 million in funding led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Y Combinator and founders and operators from leading AI companies including Sana, Legora, OpenAI, Lovable, and Listen Labs.
Stilta is building agentic AI software designed for patent litigation, defence, and monetisation. The company believes patents remain one of the most underutilised business assets, despite intangible assets accounting for more than 90% of the value of S&P 500 companies. Many patents are never enforced or commercialised because analysing them is often costly and highly complex.
The platform uses AI agents capable of reasoning across 180 million patents, 250 million scientific publications and more than a trillion archived web pages to uncover evidence often missed by traditional legal research tools and manual review.

Its technology helps businesses defend against patent claims, identify commercialisation opportunities and unlock hidden portfolio value, with every result linked directly to supporting source documents.
Founded by four former members of McKinsey’s AI practice, Stilta plans to use the new funding to hire engineers, patent specialists, and go-to-market staff across Stockholm and New York.
Since launching in February 2026, the company says it has already signed customers and pilot partners including Roche, Alfa Laval, and Maersk, along with three of the world’s five largest intellectual property law firms.
"When one company starts using AI for patent enforcement, every competitor has to follow. That shift is happening right now. We built Stilta to be the platform IP teams reach for when the stakes are highest, and to make sure no invention worth protecting goes unprotected." Oskar Block, co-founder and CEO of Stilta
