Stateful Robotics Raises $4.8M To Enhance Long-Term Robot Intelligence

Despite advances in large language and foundation models, real-world robot deployments still struggle with changing conditions.

Robots often fail when facing unexpected obstacles shifting lighting or evolving operational demands because they cannot retain and leverage historical context such as past task outcomes recurring issues or environment specific behaviors essential for reliable long term performance.

Stateful Robotics bridges this gap by integrating real-time data task progress, and historical performance into a unified AI model, enabling robots to recall past events, adapt to new conditions and plan effectively over extended periods moving beyond rigid, pre-programmed workflows.

The company was co-founded by Kirsty Lloyd-Jukes (CEO), Professor Nick Hawes, Professor David Parker, and Dr Bruno Lacerda, building on more than a decade of Oxford research in autonomy, probabilistic verification, and decision-making under uncertainty.

Stateful Robotics’ technology is already being piloted with customers in infrastructure and logistics. The newly raised capital will support expansion of the engineering team, further development of its performance engine, and accelerated go-to-market efforts with industrial partners.
