[Funding alert] Amsterdam-based Climate Tech Company Skytree Awarded €2.5M from the European Innovation Council Accelerator

Amsterdam-based climate tech company Skytree awarded €2.5M from the european innovation council accelerator. The EIC accelerator, which is a component of the Horizon Europe programme designed to boost Europe's competitiveness in science and innovation, offers start-up and scale-up businesses the support they need to progress technologies and introduce game-changing inventions to the market.
Skytree was chosen as one of the top 47 firms globally and one of the top four in the Netherlands out of 648 applicants, following a rigorous screening process that included scientists, entrepreneurs, and sophisticated investors.

Rob van Straten, Skytree CEO said, “The EIC funding award recognizes the great potential of Skytree’s DAC technology, As we prepare to ship the first Skytree DAC units to customers in Europe and North America early next year, we are honored to have been recognized by the EIC and are grateful to team IRIS from RVO for their support during the process. We look forward to leveraging the additional capital to accelerate our product development and commercialization roadmap.”
With its unique DAC technology, Skytree collects CO2 from surrounding air. With Skytree Cumulus, the company's first commercially accessible modular unit, controlled environment agriculture (CEA) businesses will be able to create their own CO2 on-site and fight climate change by removing their reliance on CO2 derived from fossil fuels.
