SUMMARY
- Estonian-founded SkySelect, an AI-powered procurement platform transforming how airlines and maintenance providers source aircraft parts, has raised $9 million in funding.
Airlines face increasing pressure to modernize outdated procurement systems, which contribute to roughly $50 billion in excess parts inventory worldwide.
When aircraft are grounded due to missing components, manual and fragmented procurement processes can take days or weeks, with aircraft-on-ground (AOG) incidents costing airlines around $30 billion annually.
By leveraging advanced procurement technology, SkySelect enables airlines and MROs to reduce shipments by up to 30% while maintaining lower inventory levels. This not only cuts logistics costs but also reduces carbon emissions, supporting more sustainable operations.

SkySelect pioneered the use of AI in aviation parts procurement before AI became widespread in marketplace technology. Unlike general-purpose large language models, SkySelect’s platform uses specialized AI to match aircraft part requests with the optimal suppliers across its global network of thousands of vendors providing real-time market visibility.
This enables just-in-time procurement, enhancing operational resilience while reducing reliance on costly safety stock.
The company also integrates with major ERP solutions, streamlining the end-to-end parts procurement process. Since its launch SkySelect has processed over $6 billion in transactions, including $1.3 billion in 2025 alone.
SkySelect continues to grow rapidly, acquiring roughly one major client per month, with recent additions including JetBlue, Sun Country Airlines, Air Transport Services Group, Widerøe, and Vueling.
The latest funding round was co-led by Verb Ventures and RockCreek, with participation from the SmartCap Green Fund (backed by the EU NextGenerationEU) and existing investors Bain Capital Ventures and Lux Capital.
The new investment will be used to enhance SkySelect’s AI sourcing and procurement optimization tools, helping airlines and MROs create a more reliable, predictable, and sustainable supply chain.
The company also plans to expand its team across product development, data science, and customer success in its USA, India, and Estonia offices.
Erkki Brakmann, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of SkySelect, shared: "Legacy procurement systems and processes are fundamentally broken. Airlines invest over $40 billion annually in aircraft parts while simultaneously carrying $50 billion in excess inventory a massive inefficiency that our AI-driven platform directly addresses.
This growth funding validates both our early-mover advantage in applying AI to aviation procurement and the tangible value we're delivering to customers."
