Santander UK Appoints Mahesh Aditya As Chief Executive Officer

He succeeds Mike Regnier, who stepped down from the role in October 2025.

Aditya joined Santander in 2017 and has held several senior leadership roles, including CEO of Santander Consumer USA and serving on the Santander UK board. In his new position, he will also oversee the integration of TSB following the acquisition announced in July 2025.

As part of the leadership transition, Pedro Castro e Almeida will step into the role of Group CRO. Castro, currently CEO of Santander Portugal, has been with the group since 1993 and previously served as Regional Head for Europe.

In Portugal, Isabel Guerreiro will succeed Castro as CEO. Guerreiro has held several leadership roles across the group, including Executive Board Member at Santander Portugal and Group Head of Digital for Europe.
