Utrecht-based Runnr.ai secures €1 million in funding. Leading this round was Arches Capital, with participation from angel investors Hans Pieters, Marnix van der Ploeg (formerly of Booking.com), Roland Zeller (previously of GetYourGuide), and Golden Egg Check.
The technology business, which made it to the final ten of the 2023 FutureTravel Summit Pitch Competition, created software that enables hotels to automate guest communications. This leads to more guest engagement, time savings for operations, and extra revenue from upselling.
As the pioneer in the hotel sector, Runnr.ai claims to have fully replaced standard “legacy” chatbot technology with generative AI, guaranteeing the best possible quality in discussions.
By 2024, the funds will be used for product development as well as extending the company’s operations from the Netherlands to the UK, Germany, and the entire Benelux region.
The whole of Europe will be added to this expansion starting in 2025, and then the other continents. The objective of Runnr.ai is to take over the global market for automated customer care in the hospitality industry.
