Founded in 2023 by Pac O’Shea and Hayyaan Ahmad, Round Treasury is an AI-powered finance automation platform used by some of Europe’s fastest-growing companies and unicorns, including Cleo and PostHog.

The platform combines financial infrastructure with AI and automation to streamline treasury, accounts payable and payroll processes, helping eliminate repetitive and manual tasks that typically consume finance teams’ time.

According to the company, despite significant investment in finance software, most finance teams still act as a bridge between disconnected systems.

They approve invoices in one tool, make payments through bank portals, manage contractors via email, and handle reconciliations using spreadsheets. As a result, every payment run, payroll cycle, and cash management task still depends heavily on human execution rather than true automation.

While most AI tools in finance are limited to copilots and chatbots focused on summarising data, answering queries, or suggesting actions Round Treasury goes a step further by combining intelligence with full financial infrastructure. This includes wallets, payment rails, and treasury systems that integrate with a company’s existing banks and accounting software.

In this model, finance teams define the rules such as approval limits, payment schedules, and minimum cash thresholds while Round executes these processes automatically. Payments are processed, idle cash can generate yield, payroll is funded and paid on time and all activities sync directly with the ERP system.

The company also emphasizes security and compliance. Round is ISO 27001:2022 certified and works only with FCA-regulated financial partners. Every transaction is recorded with full audit trails in its dashboard, ensuring finance teams maintain complete visibility, control and transparency over all fund movements.

"Everyone's trying to build an AI CFO. Cursor didn't get big by replacing the CTO. It got big by doing the work which engineers didn't want to do. We're taking the same approach, but for finance," said Pac O'Shea, Co-Founder of Round.

“We are building for the finance team of the future, one that understands the importance of automation to keep up with the pace of modern companies. AI tools are rapidly being deployed across the industry and finance teams do not need to be left behind,” added Hayyaan Ahmad, Co-Founder of Round.
