
Rotterdam-based Lunch Bunch, a social lunch catering service for businesses, has secured €565,000 in funding from Social Impact Fonds Rotterdam (SIF Rotterdam) and the Impact Fonds Duurzame Voedselketen Rotterdam.

The funding will support Lunch Bunch’s expansion across Rotterdam and its planned launch in The Hague.
The company also announced a new partnership between SIF Rotterdam and Generous Minds, aimed at helping impact-driven entrepreneurs succeed by combining expert guidance with access to capital.

Despite a tight labor market, over 42,700 Rotterdam residents remain on welfare (UWV, 2023), highlighting the ongoing need for inclusive employment solutions, the company shared on LinkedIn.
“Many are talented and motivated, but ineffective reintegration programs leave potential untapped” says the company.
Lunch Bunch aims to make a difference by providing hands-on support to help individuals build lasting careers, while also contributing to the Municipality of Rotterdam’s goals for social responsibility and inclusive employment.
In 2023, Lunch Bunch opened production facilities in Feijenoord and the Van Nelle Factory, expanding its service to more Rotterdam businesses. In 2024, Robin connected with Generous Minds through Bakkie Impact Rotterdam.
After a Covestment assessment, Generous Minds helped strengthen Lunch Bunch’s finances, legal setup and growth plan, paving the way for investments like Social Impact Fonds Rotterdam.
The company aims to grow further in Rotterdam in 2025 and expand to The Hague in 2026, creating jobs and training for people with anxiety, depression, and special education backgrounds.
