SUMMARY
- Rocsys, a Rijswijk-based startup, has launched the Rocsys M1, a hands-free charging system for autonomous electric vehicles that can serve multiple bays in robotaxi depots.
The company has also raised a €11.1 million ($13 million) Series A extension led by Capricorn Partners, bringing total funding to €47.9 million ($56 million).
Founded in 2019 by Crijn Bouman, Joost van der Weijde, and Kanter van Deurzen, Rocsys develops automated charging and fleet service solutions for electric and autonomous vehicles.
The company says the fast-growing robotaxi market is putting pressure on depot operations, with manual charging becoming a major bottleneck due to cost, inefficiency, and safety risks.

Rocsys addresses this by automating the entire charging process, improving uptime and operational efficiency. The M1 system can serve up to 10 bays with a modular design, helping increase throughput and reduce costs while freeing up depot space for other operations.
It is already in pilot deployment, with large-scale rollout planned for 2027 across Europe and North America.
Crijn Bouman, CEO and Co-Founder of Rocsys, said, “Autonomous vehicles are growing rapidly, and infrastructure must keep pace. Without hands-free operations, autonomy stops at the depot. Based on a platform designed to extend beyond charging to automated interior cleaning and inspection, the Rocsys M1 introduces smart charging infrastructure for continuous, real-world use at scale, validated by signing a major robotaxi deal. It enables operators to run mixed fleets autonomously, reliably and without interruption. This is the missing link for robotaxi operators to move from pilots to global deployment.”
