SUMMARY
- Berlin-based cybersecurity startup revel8 has raised €5.7 million in a seed round taking its total funding to €7 million since its 2024 launch.
The round was led by Peak, with support from Fortino Capital, Merantix Capital, and angel investors including Mario Götze, Sergej Epp, Michael Schrank, Rogier Fischer and Alexander Rinke.
Generative AI has made it easier to create realistic fake voices, images, and messages. Vishing attacks spiked in 2024 and high-profile deepfake incidents have continued into 2025. Yet, despite these advanced threats, most security breaches still result from human mistakes.
Founded by Julius Muth, Tom Müller, and Robert Seilbeck, revel8 was created to address weaknesses in defenses against AI-driven impersonation, with a mission to train “human firewalls” at scale.

The company mimics modern attacker strategies: its AI-driven, deepfake-focused platform quickly replicates emerging social-engineering techniques and leverages OSINT to customize simulations for each employee. Users receive adaptive, role-specific training “playlists” that evolve based on behavior and performance, transforming employees into an active defense layer through real-time, multi-channel exercises.
Co-founder and CEO Julius Muth emphasizes that traditional e-learning is outdated, and realistic simulations of current, relevant scams are far more effective.
By continuously exposing users to cyberattacks across all communication channels, we help clients build a strong security culture and reduce the risk of costly incidents.
The latest funding will allow Revel8 to grow its team, strengthen enterprise solutions, and speed up its global expansion.
Founded in 2023, revel8 helps organizations defend against GenAI-powered social engineering attacks with real-time, personalized simulations across email, SMS, voice, and video.
Its AI platform transforms employees into proactive defenders by mimicking current attack methods, tailoring exercises to individual OSINT risk profiles, and using gamified, habit-forming training. By integrating live threat intelligence, deepfake detection, and human risk analytics, revel8 provides dynamic, realistic simulations that promote continuous learning and enhance overall organizational cyber resilience.
