[Funding alert] Berlin-based Recare Secures €3.2 Million in Funding

Recare, a germany startup as a service (SaaS) platform that serves as an impartial marketplace for hospitals to locate aftercare providers for their patients secures funding of €3.2 million.

The funding is received at a critical juncture in the German healthcare system's digital transition. The Hospital Future Act (Krankenhauszukunftsgesetz/KHZG), which requires hospitals to digitise in order to increase their efficiency, is about to enter its last phase of implementation. As a result, gaining market share in the discharge management sector is crucial.

Maximilian Greschke, founder and CEO at Recare said, "We refuse the status quo of the healthcare system in Germany, or even Europe, where filling, scanning and faxing dozens of forms daily for patients is still the norm, We believe making processes faster and more secure with the help of technology is the key for positive impact in the healthcare system and ultimately helps healthcare professionals to focus on treating patients, not paperwork.”

The additional cash comes from a fresh round of investments from current investors and a €2 million loan provided by Gilion, which helps digital companies expand by giving them access to capital and forecasting.
