The Nordic region has the potential to remove up to 60 million tonnes of CO2 each year thanks to its favorable conditions.
ReCarber says, “With our founding team and expanded board in place, we will now focus on what lies ahead—scaling high-quality BECCS projects across the Nordics and beyond to deliver a significant portion of the large-scale and high-integrity carbon removal projects required to meet the global net-zero goals.”
It is working on large-scale carbon removal using Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS). The company develops and funds carbon removal projects and runs a platform that connects companies producing carbon emissions with buyers of carbon removal credits (CDRs).
By helping fund projects and secure buyers, it aims to bring these solutions to market more quickly, at lower costs, and with less risk.
The company focuses on capturing CO2 from biogenic sources, like energy produced from biomass, and storing it permanently underground. This creates high-quality CDRs that help meet net-zero goals.
