SUMMARY

  • UK-based VC firm QuantumLight, founded by Revolut’s Nik Storonsky, has officially closed its first fund at €222 million and launched its second playbook, Hiring Top Talent.

The fund, which reached its maximum limit, is supported by a global group of investors, including tech founders and leading institutions.

“Our goal is to make the invisible operating systems behind iconic companies like Revolut visible and replicable. Founders shouldn’t have to reinvent the wheel when it comes to building high-performing teams. By sharing these tools and frameworks, we’re helping scale-ups move faster from day one. ” said Ilya Kondrashov, CEO of QuantumLight.

QuantumLight uses a systematic investment approach powered by its own AI model, Aleph, which is designed to spot high-potential growth-stage startups that stand out from the rest.

“QuantumLight’s frameworks around hiring helped us bring structure and consistency to how we evaluate candidates. Leveraging the talent framework and interview playbooks gave us a clear starting point and helped us accelerate our hiring efforts. It’s been valuable to learn from the systems that helped scale Revolut into a global company.” said Mark Lee, Founder & CEO of MarqVision, a QuantumLight portfolio company.

QuantumLight has released its second public playbook, Hiring Top Talent, co-authored with founder Nik Storonsky. It follows their earlier guide, Driving High Performance.

This new playbook shares the recruitment strategy used at Revolut to grow its team to over 10,000 employees in around 10 years.

It offers a clear, step-by-step guide to help founders hire quickly without sacrificing quality. The focus is on spotting high-potential problem-solvers using a structured, repeatable process that maintains consistency and reduces bias.

The playbook also emphasizes that hiring is a core strategy, not something to outsource, and encourages building an in-house recruitment team early on.

“Our ambition is to build the world’s best systematic venture capital and growth equity firm – and support the new generation of founders by sharing some of the operating principles that we developed at Revolut”, said Nik Storonsky, Founder of QuantumLight and CEO & Founder of Revolut.
