Plain says B2B support is changing in three key ways:
Real-time, collaborative channels: Companies are moving from email and ticketing systems to platforms like Slack and Microsoft Teams, where conversations are more personal and happen faster.
Collaboration across teams: Customer support and success teams are working more closely with engineering and product teams to solve problems, which creates a need for tools that help teams work together better.
AI-powered workflows: To meet customer expectations, companies are using tools that automate tasks, gather insights, and adjust in real time.
Matt Vagni, Co-founder and CTO of Plain said, “We’ve always prioritized building a product that puts quality above all else, People come to Plain because they want something that’s fast, frictionless, and designed with care. This funding allows us to continue delivering that level of quality while scaling to meet the needs of even more companies.”
It helps modern businesses bring together communication tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Discord, along with traditional ones like email and chat, into one unified platform for customer support.
By encouraging collaboration between support, engineering, and customer success teams, Plain helps businesses solve issues faster. Its AI-powered workflows automate tasks, write detailed responses, and gather insights from customer conversations, allowing teams to deliver better support and stay connected to customer needs.
It plans to use the €14.5 million to improve its platform by adding new features and integrations, as well as to grow its team and open a San Francisco office to serve its expanding U.S. and Bay Area customers.
The company also aims to double its workforce in sales, marketing, design, and engineering over the next six months to meet the rising demand for its product.
Neeraj Agrawal, a Battery Ventures general partner, noted: “Simon and Matt’s dedication to crafting an exceptional product is clear in everything they’ve built. As B2B support moves into this new era of collaboration and AI, Plain is well positioned to lead the way. We’re thrilled to partner with them on this journey.”
