SUMMARY

  • Swedish cybersecurity startup Oplane has raised €4.5 million in seed funding to help engineering teams manage security risks emerging from AI-powered software development.

The round was led by Seed Capital, with participation from angel investors Emil Eifrem, Robert Lagerström, Joakim Nydrén, and existing investor Icebreaker.vc.

Founded in Malmö by Emil Kvarnhammar, Oscar Andersson, and Anders Söderling, Oplane is building an agentic security platform designed for modern AI-driven development workflows.

As AI coding tools accelerate software creation, traditional security processes such as manual reviews and threat modelling are becoming harder to scale.

Oplane integrates security directly into the development process by automatically mapping codebase architecture identifying security requirements, and providing contextual remediation guidance within developer workflows. The platform combines automated analysis with expert-level threat modelling to help teams detect and fix vulnerabilities earlier in the development cycle.

The company is already working with early customers and running pilot deployments as it expands adoption across software engineering teams.

With the new funding, Oplane plans to expand across Europe, deepen integrations with AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot, and grow its team across engineering, cybersecurity, QA, and commercial functions.

The startup aims to ensure that as AI speeds up software development, security practices evolve at the same pace.

I've spent years trying to solve this at scale with human capacity, and it's impossible. It has to be addressed with agentic solutions, tightly embedded in how a team already builds. Secure development lifecycle is no longer a dream. Emil Kvarnhammar Co-founder & CEO, Oplane.
