SUMMARY

  • Munich-based acoustic AI startup Omnisent has raised an oversubscribed $3 million Pre-Seed round, led by Atlantic Labs.

The company develops both hardware and software to revolutionize industries where sound is the next big frontier. At the core of Omnisent’s innovation are proprietary, ultra-low-power sonic devices that capture and process real-time acoustic signals.

These devices help train what the company calls a Large Acoustic Model (LAM)—a foundation model designed to understand and decode the complex, untapped world of non-speech audio.

They are united by a shared ambition to push the boundaries of AI and build technology that can hear beyond human capability.

Despite being a young company, Omnisent has already earned several accolades, including a scientific collaboration grant with Germany’s renowned Fraunhofer Institute, a founder scholarship from the Federal Republic of Germany, the Founder Award by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action, and recognition as one of the top 10 AI startups in the Cambridge-Oxford ecosystem.

According to CEO Robin Daiber, Omnisent aims to unlock a new layer of intelligence by decoding the acoustic signals embedded in the physical world.

“By pairing ultra-low power sonic devices with a large acoustic model (LAM) trained on non-speech audio, we turn sound into real-time intelligence.”

Omnisent is starting with the manufacturing sector by using its technology to improve compressed air systems. These systems often suffer from air leaks, which lead to about 1% of global electricity loss—costing businesses tens to hundreds of billions of dollars each year.

“From there, we’re expanding into energy, defence, space, and smart cities – sectors where sound is the next frontier. I'm incredibly grateful to be on this journey alongside my amazing co-founders, Ann-Kristin and Adrien.“

According to Christophe F. Maire, Founder and GP of Atlantic Labs: "At Atlantic Labs, we back category-defining technologies, and Omnisent is exactly that. The team combines deep scientific expertise from Cambridge University and Imperial College with impressive execution.

Their proprietary acoustic hardware and algorithms unlock a sensing dimension that has been largely untapped. We see immense potential for this technology across multiple industries, from infrastructure and manufacturing to defence and beyond."

Prof. Joachim Bös, Head of Fraunhofer IDMT, shared: “Omnisent's innovative work in making acoustic data intelligent in real time represents a significant step forward.

As intelligent systems gain importance, we believe that the solutions developed by Omnisent will not only revolutionise the industry but also set new standards in energy efficiency and resource management."

The new funding will be used to boost research and development, expand the team and operations, and get ready for the commercial launch planned for Q4 2025.
