SUMMARY

  • Stockholm-based energy tech startup Nrlyze, which focuses on reducing heat waste in buildings, has raised SEK 10 million (around €897K) in a funding round led by VEQ and Aipa Invesco AB, with ongoing backing from existing investors such as Peter Carlsson of Northvolt and Martin Anderlind.

Since its 2020 launch, Nrlyze has raised a total of SEK 15 million (about €1.3M). The company plans to use the funds to expand its team, attract bigger clients, forge long-term partnerships, and accelerate entry into new markets.

“What we are doing is reducing energy use and thus energy expenses, which are the biggest cost for a property owner. It affects the operating net, which is directly linked to the valuation of the property,” says Lars Hansson, CEO and co-founder of Nrlyze.

Heating represents the biggest portion of energy consumption in Swedish buildings. The company states that operating properties consume 40% of Sweden’s total energy, with heating as the largest contributor.

“At the same time, fundamental problems with the management of our properties lead to a systematic waste of energy,” says the company.

Founded in 2020 by Lars Hansson and Christian Engstrand, Nrlyze offers a platform that uses AI algorithms and on-site hardware to detect and correct misconfigured or imbalanced heating systems.

The company estimates that clients can reduce heating costs by 10–15% while boosting property value.

Currently serving around 100 customers—mainly smaller property owners and associations—Nrlyze is now targeting larger clients.

The announcement follows the firm’s strong 2024 performance, with revenue nearly doubling to SEK 8M from SEK 4M in 2023, and profits improving from a SEK 1M loss to roughly SEK 500,000, according to Digital.

“This investment lets us scale our team, reach larger portfolios, and expand to new markets. It is a strong vote of confidence in our vision and the hard work of our team,” says Hansson.
