NEX Health Intelligence Raises €1M To Help Hospitals Prevent Infection Spread

Healthcare-associated infections remain a major challenge for hospitals worldwide contributing to longer patient stays, operational strain and rising healthcare costs. Drug-resistant infections in particular continue to increase pressure on healthcare systems globally.

NEX Health Intelligence is developing an AI-driven infection intelligence platform designed to help hospitals detect, predict, and prevent infections before they spread.

The platform enables healthcare providers to identify transmission risks earlier and implement more targeted infection control measures.

The company was founded by Dr Ashleigh Myall after his experience supporting the NHS COVID-19 response revealed how rapidly infections can spread among vulnerable hospital patients. He later partnered with Dr Chang Ho Yoon to explore how artificial intelligence could improve infection prevention and hospital safety.

NEX Health Intelligence is currently collaborating with NHS organisations across the United Kingdom, including evaluation projects with two London NHS Trusts and an active deployment in the North West of England.

Internationally, the company is also operating at a military hospital in Southeast Asia and expanding its presence through projects in Malaysia.

The newly secured funding will be used to support NEX’s expansion across UK and international healthcare systems, while also advancing regulatory approvals, clinical safety initiatives, and the development of clinical and economic evidence through real-world hospital deployments.
