Mopso, a Regtech startup focused on anti-money laundering (AML) and preventing financial crime, has raised €1 million in Seed funding.

Founded in Milan in 2021 by Andrea Danielli, a former Banca d’Italia executive, and Enrico Fagnoni, a serial entrepreneur, it offers banks and financial institutions a software platform to fight money laundering. The company uses semantic web technology and digital identity to make compliance easier.

It’s main products are Brain, which detects suspicious transactions and high-risk clients by combining internal and external data, and Amlet, which helps share due diligence data securely by converting it into verifiable credentials. This makes onboarding easier and aligns with European Digital Identity Wallet standards.

The company, which serves banks and asset management firms, saw a 70% increase in revenue in 2024 due to new business developments.

As financial regulations grow stricter advanced technologies are essential to safeguarding institutions and reinforcing trust in the system.”

The seed funding will help it expand its operations in key European markets and improve its products with new features.
