SUMMARY
- Berlin-based health tech company Mirantus Health has raised €5.5 million to scale its ophthalmology software platform mira across the DACH region.
Ophthalmic care in Europe is under growing pressure: in Germany, 30% of ophthalmologists are 60 or older and nearing retirement, while demand for eye examinations continues to rise due to an ageing population.
mira provides additional, low-threshold access points for patients and helps reduce waiting times and ease the workload in medical practices. Using mira, opticians can perform key eye measurements including retinal imaging, intraocular pressure checks, slit-lamp examinations, refraction data, and visual acuity tests and digitally transmit the results to ophthalmologists for review.
Instead of waiting months, patients receive a specialist-evaluated report within 24 to 48 hours.

The results report is not a medical diagnosis; it flags whether any abnormalities require further investigation. By identifying issues early, mira helps prevent long-term complications and reduces healthcare costs. When abnormalities are detected, Mirantus supports follow-up appointments through a nationwide network of 400+ ophthalmologists.
Investors in the round include Revent, Redstone, Entrepreneur First, Noaber, Arve Capital, and telemedicine pioneers Kai Eberhardt (Oviva) and Katharina Jünger (TeleClinic). mira is already available at 200+ locations, with plans to expand to over 1,000 sites by 2027 across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
The new funding will accelerate development of the digital platform and support its rollout throughout the DACH region.
