Paris-Based Marble Secures €6.5Mn Series A for Financial Crime Compliance

Marble is a Paris-based company that has raised €6.5 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Smartfin, a European investment firm focused on high-growth B2B technology companies.

SUMMARY

  • Marble is a Paris-based open-source fraud detection and AML compliance company.
  • Raised €6.5 million in Series A funding.
  • Founded in 2021 by Arnaud Schwartz and Pascal Delange, former Shine executives.

Other investors in the round include ADNEXUS and existing backers Passion, 42Capital, and Hexa. With this latest funding, Marble has raised a total of €9 million, with TSIC also listed among its existing investors.

“Compliance teams shouldn’t have to choose between staying compliant and moving fast. That’s exactly what we built Marble to solve. As the regulatory bar keeps rising, compliance teams are expected to do more with the same headcount. Our job is to make sure that it is Marble that absorbs that complexity and not our customers,” said Schwartz, CEO and co-founder of Marble.

“Marble makes automation the default, on the customer’s own infrastructure. Our conviction is that Marble becomes the structurally differentiated, modern financial crime operating system for mid-market banks and fintechs. That’s why we led this round,” said Saumitra Dubey, Partner at Smartfin.

Founded in 2021, Marble was started by Arnaud Schwartz and Pascal Delange, both former executives at Shine. The company focuses on FRAML, which combines fraud detection and anti-money laundering work.

Marble was created to help fintech companies and financial institutions manage compliance more easily. The founders experienced these challenges themselves while working at Shine and saw that many existing tools often added more manual work.

The company offers a no-code platform that allows compliance and risk teams to create and manage their own transaction monitoring rules. This means teams can make changes without having to rely on software vendors or IT teams.

Marble also provides tools for sanctions and watchlist screening, investigations, reporting, customer risk scoring, and testing new rules using live data. This helps financial teams manage different compliance tasks from one platform.
