SUMMARY

  • Preventive health platform Lucis has raised $20 million in Series A funding led by Singular, with participation from General Catalyst, Y Combinator, and angel investors including backers of Runna, Céline Lazorthes (Resilience), and Manu Lecomte.

The raise comes just four months after its $8 million seed round, bringing total funding to $28 million.

Founded in 2025 by Maxime Berthelot and Baptiste Debever, Lucis is building a data-driven preventive health platform designed to give individuals deeper insight into their overall health.

The platform evaluates more than 110 blood biomarkers across areas including metabolic health, hormones, cardiovascular risk, inflammation and nutrient levels.

These insights are integrated into an AI-powered health companion app that combines test results, longitudinal tracking, and medical context to deliver personalized recommendations covering nutrition, supplements, lifestyle adjustments, and follow-up testing.

Lucis continuously updates recommendations as new health data becomes available, with physician review providing additional clinical oversight to help users act on their results.

Early results from Lucis’ user base of more than 10,000 indicate strong engagement and measurable outcomes. Among users who completed a six-month follow-up, 75% improved at least three biomarkers without medication, while over 80% chose to continue monitoring through repeat testing.

The company reports that nearly all users initially discovered at least one biomarker outside optimal ranges, underscoring the value of regular health monitoring.

Today, Lucis operates with a team of 20 spanning engineering, clinical operations, growth, and product functions, supported by a medical board and a network of physicians.

Since launching in 2025, Lucis has expanded across France, the UK, Ireland, and Portugal, serving more than 10,000 users and processing over one million biomarker tests.

The company has also formed partnerships with laboratory providers including Eurofins and Randox and plans to expand into Spain, Germany, and Italy by the end of 2026 while continuing to invest in personalization, long-term health tracking, and clinical safety.

According to Maxime Berthelot, Co-founder and CEO Lucis: “We’ve seen the devastating impact of late stage diagnosis first hand. The science is already there; what’s missing is a system designed to act before symptoms appear. This is why we built Lucis.

By combining biomarker data and AI driven clinical insights we can catch what the system misses. Europe deserves a healthcare model that doesn’t wait for people to get sick. We are making prevention the default rather than a privilege.”
