SUMMARY
- London-based Sencillo, a new fintech startup offering a platform to help parents plan, fund, and manage their children’s education with greater confidence, control, and clarity, has raised more than €397k (£350k) in pre-seed funding. The round was led by Fuel Ventures.
Adam Amos, CEO and founder of Sencillo: “Education is one of the biggest investments any parent will make. Yet for most, the process is fragmented, confusing, and stressful. Add in challenges such as the rising cost of childcare, VAT on private school fees, and the growing accessibility gap for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities; it can feel like an impossible journey to navigate.”
Sencillo’s pre-seed round comes amid a broader wave of European FinTech funding in 2025. Recent adjacent-sector activity includes Copenhagen’s ReBloom securing €400k for a private secondary-trading platform and Groundley raising €970k to scale its AI-driven finance insights engine.
At later stages, Paris-based Finary closed a €25M round to expand its wealth-management tools, while London’s BKN301 Group secured €21.5M to advance its Banking-as-a-Service offering.

In total these announcements account for around €47M in neighbouring FinTech investment. While none operate directly in family education finance, the activity highlights strong sector momentum across Europe with Sencillo’s UK base placing it within a particularly active domestic innovation landscape.
“We believe every parent should be able to make informed, confident decisions about their child’s education. Smart planning plus responsible, accessible financial products are key and Sencillo is here to make that possible – not just for the few, but for every family seeking a clear and secure education journey and future for their children,” adds Amos.
Founded in 2025 by Adam Amos, Sencillo is built “by parents, for parents” and supported by leading industry experts. Amos previously co-founded Pigzbe, a pocket-money app focused on early financial literacy, and held senior innovation roles at EY across retail banking, wealth, and credit lending.
Sencillo is a FinTech platform that helps families plan, fund and manage their child’s entire education journey from early years to adulthood. With a focus on responsible lending and transparent financial planning, Sencillo gives parents a clear view of education costs and provides tailored funding through embedded credit solutions.
Mark Pearson, founder of Fuel Ventures says: “Adam’s vision for helping parents plan and fund education in a smarter, more accessible way is exactly the kind of ambitious thinking we look for at Fuel. Sencillo is tackling real challenges within the education sector that affect millions of families across the UK and we’re proud to back Sencillo at this early stage.”
According to Sencillo, UK families are facing rising education costs, spending an average of €4k–€17k (£3.6k–£15k) per year on early years childcare, €21k–€56k (£19k–£50k) for independent schooling, and over €25.7k (£22.7k) annually for university, including living expenses.
Sencillo addresses the growing demand for transparent, responsible, and accessible financial support, helping parents manage education expenses, VAT on school fees, limited bursaries, and challenges for children with SEND.
The platform’s marketplace initially focuses on unsecured credit products integrated with planning tools. Parents can use smart calculators to visualize total education costs, allocate savings, and access tailored financing solutions, with payments made directly to schools, nurseries, or universities.
The new funding will support team growth, platform development, and the planned 2026 launch.
