Applied Computing, a London-based developer of AI foundation models for the industrial sector, has received a strategic investment from KBR, a Houston-based global engineering and technology firm.

- Applied Computing, a London-based developer of AI foundation models for the industrial sector, has received a strategic investment from KBR, a Houston-based global engineering and technology firm.
The agreement gives KBR a board seat at Applied Computing and establishes a multi-year joint development partnership to co-create exclusive AI solutions for the energy sector.
Led by CEO Callum Adamson and Chief AI Officer Dr. Samyakh Tukra, Applied Computing develops Orbital, a foundation AI model designed for energy operations.
The platform combines physics-based intelligence, chemical engineering models, and time-series forecasting to deliver real-time optimisation for critical environments, including refineries, LNG plants and renewable energy facilities.
