SUMMARY

  • Legora, a Stockholm-based company building a collaborative AI platform for lawyers, has raised an additional $50 million in an extension of its previously announced Series D round.

This brings total funding for the round to $600 million and values the company at $5.6 billion post-money.

The extension includes corporate investors Atlassian and NVentures (NVIDIA’s venture arm), alongside financial investors such as Airtree, Barclays, Geodesic, Insight, Liberty Global, and Nikesh Arora.

Led by CEO and co-founder Max Junestrand, Legora offers an AI-powered platform that helps legal professionals with research, document review, and drafting. It is used by tens of thousands of lawyers across more than 1,000 law firms and corporate legal teams in over 50 markets.

The funding comes after a period of fast growth for Legora. The company has crossed $100 million in annual recurring revenue and grew its team from 40 to 400 employees in just one year.

Its customer base has grown from 200 to over 1,000 organizations, including major corporate legal departments like Barclays and global law firms such as White & Case, Linklaters, Bird & Bird, Deloitte, Dentons, and Goodwin.

Legora CEO Max Junestrand says he isn’t concerned. “Foundation models are improving quickly, but the real value is in how they’re applied,” he wrote in a statement. It also shows how the startup instills FOMO among its target users, stating that “the legal teams that embed AI effectively today will shape how the industry evolves.”
