SUMMARY

  • Munich-based NutriUnited has raised €8.5M in a Seed funding round, attracting investors with expertise in food, buy-and-build ventures, communications, and innovative business models.

The Seed round included participation from Martina Pfeifer (flatexDegiro), Tim Stracke (Chrono24), Oliver Merkel (ex-Flink), Christof Wahl (G-FUND), Marc Müller (ex-ETL Group), Frank Dopheide (human unlimited), Arnd Hungerberg (ServiceNow), Finn Wentzler (Atlantis Ventures), Leon Mann (Direkt Gruppe), Dr. Hadi Saleh (CeramTec), and Timo Seggelmann (OakHorizon).

Arnd Hungerberg (ServiceNow), says, “I invested in NutriUnited because I believe in sustainable food innovation that connects tradition and the future, creating real value for people and businesses.”

NutriUnited, founded in 2024 by Josef Brunner, is building a network of food companies focused on craft-based production, uniting businesses across meat, meat alternatives, and prepared meal segments.

The group currently includes Grasmehr and Morawitzky, a family-run sausage and ham producer near Cologne with a long-standing regional presence. Since joining NutriUnited Holding SE in 2025 Morawitzky benefits from support while retaining its independent identity.

NutriUnited’s goal is to allow these companies to operate independently while offering access to shared resources, collaboration opportunities, and joint initiatives to support growth and innovation.

NutriUnited plans to use the funding to accelerate its buy-and-build strategy in the food sector. The group, including Grasmehr and Morawitzky, employs over 140 people, with investors offering financial, strategic, and operational support alongside entrepreneurial expertise.

Josef Brunner, founder and CEO of NutriUnited, says, “We want to create a home for family-run food companies. We stand for true entrepreneurship, dedication to craftsmanship, and honest products – and we see ourselves as the anti-corporation. Even as we grow, we want to remain small, agile and close to our customers.”

“As the son of a baker, returning to my roots and dedicating myself to the most important mission of my life is deeply personal: ensuring the future of medium-sized artisan food producers with NutriUnited. From our perspective, this is not only relevant to the food industry but also has significant economic importance, as many companies will have no future without proper succession.”

Brunner adds, “I am proud of our exceptional group of shareholders. Our experienced investors embody true entrepreneurship and actively support NutriUnited with advice, hands-on experience and their personal networks. Together, we want to prove that growth, craftsmanship and quality are not contradictions – and that small family businesses can be a real alternative for the food retail sector.”
